Cedar Wax Wings consume the fruit.
Host plant for Coral Hairstreak (Satyrium titus), Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus), Spring Azure (Celastrina ladon), Viceroy Butterfly (Limenitis archippus) and Red Spotted Purple Butterfly (Limenitis arthemis astyanax).
